Welcome to The Gadget Games. These Official Contest Rules (“Rules”) govern all contests, sweepstakes, giveaways, and promotional campaigns operated by The Gadget Games (“Sponsor”, “Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By entering any contest on The Gadget Games, you agree to these Rules.

2. Eligibility

Contests are open to:

Legal residents of Canada (Excluding Quebec) and the United States
Individuals who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence

Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Employees, contractors, affiliates, immediate family members, and household members of The Gadget Games are not eligible to participate.

Participants are responsible for ensuring participation is lawful in their local jurisdiction.

All times are listed in Eastern Time (ET) unless otherwise specified.

The Sponsor reserves the right to:

Extend or shorten contest periods
Modify draw dates
End contests early if all entries sell out

4. How to Enter

Participants may enter contests by:

Purchasing entries through the official website, or
Using the Free Alternative Method of Entry (“AMOE”) described below

Total entry limits (if applicable)

Once payment is completed, entrants will receive confirmation by email.

All prices displayed on the website are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

5. Free Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE)

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

To enter without making a purchase, mail a handwritten submission containing:

Full legal name
Mailing address
Phone number
Email address
Contest name
A handwritten original essay of at least 100 words explaining why you want to win

Requirements:

One entry request per envelope
Must be handwritten by the entrant
Must be received before the contest closing date
Mechanically reproduced or automated submissions are void

Approved AMOE submissions will receive the equivalent number of entries associated with one standard paid entry unless otherwise specified.

6. Winner Selection

Winners will be selected in a random draw from all eligible entries received during the contest period.

Draws may be conducted:

Live online
Via random selection software
Through a verified random draw process

Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Potential winners may be contacted by:

Email
Telephone
Social media
Website announcement

If a selected entrant:

Cannot be contacted within 7 days,
Is found ineligible,
Fails verification requirements,
Or fails the skill-testing question (Canada only),

the Sponsor may select an alternate winner.

7. Canadian Skill-Testing Requirement

For Canadian residents, selected winners must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question before being declared an official winner.

Example:
$12 \times 5) + 18 – 9$

Failure to correctly answer may result in disqualification.

This requirement may not apply to U.S. residents where prohibited by law.

Prizes:

Are non-transferable
Have no cash value unless stated otherwise
May be substituted with a prize of equal or greater value if unavailable

The Gadget Games is not sponsored, endorsed, or affiliated with Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Samsung, Nintendo, or any other brand unless explicitly stated.

9. Taxes

Winners are solely responsible for:

Federal taxes
State taxes
Provincial taxes
Local taxes
Customs duties or import fees (if applicable)

U.S. winners may be required to complete tax documentation, including IRS Form W-9 where required by law.

10. Shipping & Delivery

Prizes may be shipped within Canada and the United States unless otherwise stated.

The Sponsor is not responsible for:

Lost shipments
Delayed delivery
Carrier issues
Customs processing delays
Incorrect shipping information

A signature and government-issued identification may be required upon delivery.

11. Refund Policy

All entry purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law.

If a contest is cancelled, the Sponsor may provide:

Refunds,
Store credit,
Or transfer entries to another contest

at its sole discretion where legally permitted.

12. Fraud, Abuse & Disqualification

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who:

Uses automated systems or bots
Attempts to manipulate the contest
Provides false information
Violates these Rules
Engages in suspicious or fraudulent activity

Entries generated through scripts, AI automation, or unfair methods may be voided.

13. Publicity Release

By accepting a prize, winners grant The Gadget Games permission to use:

First name
City/state/province
Social media username
Photograph
Winner testimonial

for marketing and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.

14. Limitation of Liability

By participating, entrants release and hold harmless The Gadget Games and its affiliates, owners, officers, employees, contractors, and partners from any claims relating to:

Contest participation
Prize acceptance or use
Technical failures
Website outages
Unauthorized access
Lost or delayed entries
Shipping issues

The Sponsor makes no warranties regarding products supplied by third-party manufacturers.

15. Website & Technical Issues

The Sponsor is not responsible for:

Internet interruptions
Server failures
Payment processing issues
Email delivery problems
Website downtime
Data loss

The Sponsor may suspend or terminate contests affected by technical issues or security concerns.

16. Privacy

Information collected from entrants may be used for:

Contest administration
Winner verification
Customer service
Marketing communications (where consent is provided)

17. Governing Law

For Canadian residents:

Governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal laws

For U.S. residents:

Governed by applicable federal and state laws

Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the jurisdiction determined by the Sponsor unless otherwise required by law.

18. Right to Modify or Cancel

The Sponsor reserves the right to:

Modify contest rules
Substitute prizes
Cancel contests
Suspend operations
Refuse entry

where necessary for legal, operational, or security reasons.

All decisions by the Sponsor are final.

19. Acceptance of Rules

By participating, entrants confirm they:

Meet eligibility requirements
Have read and understood these Rules
Agree to be legally bound by these Official Contest Rules and all Sponsor decisions
